Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE: 

Position is responsible for the physical auditing of the sites outbound orders, ensuring that each selector has a set number of pallets (or totes) audited per week, and providing results to department leadership for the purpose of improved accuracy to our customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: 

  • Maintain accurate input into the tracking system to capture all relevant audit data (associate/pallets audited/total cases audited/total errors in mispick, BNR, damage, other found/accuracy rate by error category/aggregate accuracy rate).
  • Determine root cause and resolution communications where errors are discovered with IC team members on location/product error relative to mis-stock, mis-received, incorrect packaging scenarios etc. to avoid future errors.
  • Ensure consistency and fairness of audit program.
  • Inspects assigned jack for safety issues.
  • Assures orders are being audited according to the QA Audit schedule
  • Communicates with the shipping office to coordinate next customers and orders to audit with direction from the QA Manager
  • Retrieves orders, break down and check for mispicks, and verify count for overage or shortage using Excel.
  • Investigates mispicks for cause (slot picked, wrong aisle, mis-slotted product).
  • Corrects discrepancies at the completion of the audit, completes QA Audit worksheets for each customer, and documents any discrepancies.
  • Rebuilds pallets using “best methods,” and returns to staging area.
  • Keeps area clean and debris out of work area; maintains a safe work environment.
  • Performs other tasks as needed by Lead Auditor or Supervisor.
  • Operates pallet jack in safe and efficient manner.
  • Informs manager or supervisor of any large quantity errors or mis-slots.
  • Reports any violation of company policy to supervisor or lead.
  • Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.
  • Scans barcodes into Excel workbook to capture necessary data.
  • Performs other job duties as required.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • 1+ years’ experience selection, IC or audits in a distribution center environment
  • Experience in wholesale/distribution and consumer goods industries is a plus
  • System Implementation Preferred

Knowledge:             

  • Understanding of Safety Guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) functions.
  • Knowledge of pick slots, back stock locations, and product in the warehouse.
  • Moderate Proficiency with MS OFFICE tools, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
  • Detail Oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Capable of maintaining written records and completing system forms in a timely manner.
  • Ability to build solid and accurate pallets.
  • System implementation experience is preferred. 
  • Able to utilize RF handhelds and proficiency in WM and/or WBS warehouse management systems. 

Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated analytical skills to understand and apply research and data analysis for decision making.
  • Professional problem-solving skillset.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), able to deal with ambiguity effectively,.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, communication, presentation, organization, decision-making, and planning skills.
  • Must be able to lift cases up to 50 pounds continuously for an entire shift.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to operated powered equipment.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Has knowledge of other warehouse areas giving a more rounded perspective and understanding of processes.
