Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Field Sales Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and direction of assigned Field Sales Representatives and Merchandisers. The purpose of this role is to provide quality service efficiently while achieving maximum sales levels.  This is a full time position servicing supermarkets in the Rochester, NY area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Daily coordination of resources to support customer and sales projects.
  • Communicate daily with direct reports, tracking progress and projects.
  • Report observed trends and potential sales and or credit opportunities on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate the execution of plan-o-grams as implemented by the Account Manager or customer.
  • Respond to customer issues or complaints quickly and efficiently.
  • Work with store management to achieve maximum service quality and service levels.
  • Prepare weekly reports for Manager on customer specific issues.
  • Work closely with Manager and Account Manager where appropriate to insure projects are timely and smooth.
  • Train and recruit Representatives and Merchandisers as needed.
  • Manage and coordinate third party support, broker and vendor support for new store and reset projects as needed.
  • Provide updates and current schedules of projects to the Manager on a regular basis.
  • Track and follow-up on projects to assess customer satisfaction and achievement of goals.
  • Assist with customer presentations contributing regional trends, updates and suggestions for a well rounded presentation to management or customers.
  • Create a culture of service, integrity and support within the Field Sales department.
  • Assist with store projects as needed.
  • Conduct and coordinate store audits to assist sales with determining opportunities and identifying possible gaps.
  • Attends sales meetings as required
  • Travel in the assigned area including overnights is required and occasional out of area meetings.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:         

  • Associate Degree in related field or equivalent training and experience.
  • Valid driver's license necessary.
  • Auto insurance levels that meet UNFI requirements

 

Required Experience/knowledge:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years industry related experience.

Strong knowledge of store layouts, plan-o-grams, customer service, and trends

Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Solid computer skills, and the ability to use Microsoft office software.

 

physical Abilities:

  • Ability to get in and out of car multiple times per day and able to spend up to 30% of the day in the car traveling to and from accounts safely in city, rural and expressway conditions.
  • Ability to set up displays, fixtures, shelving and products.
  • Able to tolerate exposure to store and warehouse conditions including wide variances in temperature, dust and dirt.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
